The first trailer for Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam movie will premiere on June 8.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will bring Black Adam to life in the film named after the DC Comics character, and the former WWE Champion has shared the first trailer for the film.

Johnson has been preparing for years to bring his anti-hero, Black Adam, to the world. Despite sharing sporadic updates on the film for a while now, this will be the first proper trailer for the upcoming superhero film.


Johnson revealed the trailer on Tuesday, as he showed the world the poster and announced that the world premiere trailer will release on June 8. He also wrote a tagline of the film, "The world needs a hero, it's gone black Adam" before he stated that, with Black Adam, "the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe will change."

Black Adam has been in development for several years, prior to 2014. The project has faced various setbacks, but it will finally hit the theaters on October 21, 2022. Johnson will be joined by co-stars Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan.

To calm fans down ahead of the trailer, Johnson also shared the first official poster for Black Adam which you can see below.

Black Adam is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. While Black Adam is usually Shazam's enemy, this upcoming film will not actually feature the character played by Zachary Levy. Instead, Black will pit the ancient character of Adam Johnson against the Justice Society of America.


These include Noah Centineo as the Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Kunetsa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate.

Black Adam has been in development since 2017. At DC Fandome in 2020, the studio finally revealed the Black Adam vs. JSA plotline.


Black Adam is one of the few DC films currently being released as a sequel to Shazam, as well as starring The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Batgirl.


Black Adam Poster Unveiled

Dwayne Jonson recently shared the first poster of his much-awaited DC superhero film Black Adam on his official Instagram handle. The poster shows the actor dressed in a superhero outfit, which he had earlier glimpsed through his social media handle.


It also featured the film's release date with a note that read "The World Needs a Hero It's Got Black Adam". Adding to this, he also wrote a caption in which he revealed that the trailer of the film was scheduled to release on June 9, 2022, at 6.30 pm. 6 a.m. PT in India and abroad.



Several celebrities and fans took to Dwayne Johnson's latest Instagram post and expressed their excitement to watch the trailer of the film, while many others predicted that the film will surely be an epic one. On the other hand, many of them also dropped heart and fire emojis to express their amazement.

Black Adam is one of the most awaited movies in the DC Extended Universe. The film will see the introduction of the DC supervillain character, which was earlier to be introduced with the 2019 film Shazam. However, its makers decided to release two separate films.
